Question DisplayPort cable casing broke..

so the casing around my dp cable broke but the cable itself is fine and new. Its stuck in there obviously but nothings wrong with cable and would much rather leave it in there then trying to squeeze down with pliers to unlock it. Is this dangerous? Burn my computer up type stuff? I was just gonna wrap it up with electrical tape to where the casing was before, didnt find anything else online about this particular situation. Nothings gonna tug on it or anything like that no wires touching.

u cant burn anything but buy new inst so expensive
