I wanted to make sure I went through the appropriate steps to make sure as I never experience this issue before. I left my PC for only about a good hour or so. When I came back my Display was not detecting a signal from my PC even though it was on. I restarted it of course it still did not receive a signal. I tried unplugging my monitor, etc.

I also tried different ports and such on my video card. I also tried HDMI + DP since it was detecting the signal from my HDMI. I looked through Nvidia Control Panel and a few other things to see if it picked up anything from DP and it was not whatsoever. Could anyone else with a similar experience confirm that my DP cable is dead or is there any missing steps I could take to make sure? I have not done anything or downloaded anything that should have affected it. It seems to simply stop working on its own.

If your monitor still works via HDMI, then it's likely the DP cable. If you have another DP cable somewhere, the the easiest way to check for a dead cable is to just swap it out with one you know works. Alternatively you could try swapping displays, to check if the cable still works on a different display. Not much to testing out cables other than swapping them out.

Sadly I don't have another display I could test it on, but more so another DisplayPort cable it was my only one. I did order one that should be here in a few days to confirm it, but from the situation of it how it happen it seems most likely a dead cable since it stopped working completely as soon as I came back, but never had random issues that seem to led up to this previously. So seems like the cable. I'll respond back once I get the one I ordered though.
