I have this set up

Graphics Card: R9 270x

DVI-I => HP 27xi
HDMI => HP 27xi (2nd monitor)
Displayport => Passive Displayport to HDMI adapter => HDTV

I use only two monitors at a time that's why I use passive adaptor. When I need the HDTV, I just turn it on, and windows 10 automatically used to turn my second HDMI Hp 27xi off and output to HDTV. Switching cables is a hassle so that's why I used them like that.

It used to work on windows 8 as well as windows 10. Then one day I had an update (probably to the latest build) and it just stopped working.

Now I can never get any output whatsoever on my HDTV (or whatever it is that's plugged into Displayport to HDMI adaptor). When I turn it on, windows 10 detects it as a non-PnP monitor with a 640x480 res. display and I don't get any output on it, even if I disable my other displays.

Things I've tried so far:
1. Did a clean windows 10 install. Downloaded the latest AMD driver for R9 270X graphics.

I could not check my displayport to HDMI passive adapter but I don't think it has gone bad. Also when I bought that it did not have any driver disk (I just plugged it in and it worked) so I have no driver for it.

Still the same results. I have links to some pictures below to clear things up including:
