Displayport? Dvi? HDMI?

Hey new 1440p 144hz monitor. I have an Asus 1070 but it only has a dvi port on it. At first I didn’t have a dvi cable so I used a dvi adapter to hdmi and only got 1440p 75hz. So I got a full dvi cable but now it’s down to 6hz. I know display port is the way to go and got a do cable included but no where to plug it into my graphics card. Should I get an adapter to dp?

What exact graphics card model do you have? I find it very hard to believe any GTX 1070 would have only DVI out.

Doesn't your graphics card have a DP port on it? They look similar to HDMI.
