DisplayPort -> HDMI cable not working

So i recently just bought a Displayport - HDMI cable, i have a gtx 1060 6gb and hdmi works fine, but whenever i plug my DP - HDMI cable in i cant detect any tv/monitor (ive tried plugging all into all 3 aswell and still nothing), tried upgrading to newest drivers and nothing, is it my hardware or my cable?

why are you using an adapter? Just use HDMI to HDMI
The adapter might be faulty
which adapter do you use? Can you post the link of it?

do you wanna use more than one display?

Its for my second monitor, not an adapter , its a cable with Hdmi connection on one end and DP on the other

otherwise it would be a HDMI cable or DP cable

which monitors are you using? Did you connect the cable into the gtx1060 for sure or are you using the motherboard´s video outputs?

can you check with another system? e.g. a friend´s system? Otherwise I would RMA the cable or just send it back and buy a DP 1.2 to HDMI 1.4 one or get a simple DVI to HDMI
