I have a GTX 1660 Super which I want to connect to an unused VGA monitor (the monitor do not have other port available other than VGA) as secondary monitor.
Question 1 : which is better, DisplayPort to VGA converter OR HDMI to VGA converter?
Question 2 : will using converter have bad effect to my graphic card? Will it damage my graphic card somehow, or it is safe?

Thanks

#1 -- Neither is very good. Analog video through an adapter usually is disappointing.
#2 -- It shouldn't. I don't recommend a $6 AliExpress version, but a name brand adapter should be OK.

Hi kanewolf, quick follow up question,

#1 Yeah it will not be ideal but I need to choose between DisplayPort or HDMI converter to VGA.
Which one would you suggest, DisplayPort or HDMI to VGA?

I don't believe there is any difference. The only requirement is that you get an active (powered) adapter. It may have a supplemental USB cable for power or it can get power from the video port.
