I have two asus vg248qe montiors. I wanted to get rid of the bulky Dvi connector on one ( only one cause Asus 's gtx970 only has one DP smh) . Whenever I plug the cord into EITHER monitor's displayport port , it reads no signal. I looked this up online and I tried the unplugging the monitor for 1 min trick . All this achieved was now I can wake the monitor sometimes with displayport but still no video is displayed. I also read reindstalling drivers can help but if it can't even dispay video in the biso wouldn't that indicate drivers have nothing to do with it ? Replies appreciated.

Displayport cable is a little different to hdmi how it connects, theres bit more push needed for the pointy notches to lock itself in the video port. If the cable end can simply be pull out its not connecting properly. If you need to press up to release the cable then it's connected properly.
Some monitors have a button on the display to change modes (such as VGA, DVI, DP) etc... have you checked your monitor to see if it has that settings?

Normally it should autodetect, but sometimes that doesn't work properly.

Also I thought you said you had two monitors connected? Wouldn't you just use the second monitor to update/install drivers? Are you trying to use some type of splitter?

I have of course tried to switch it to the DP input, it simply says no signal. No i'm not trying to use some sort of splitter . Yes there are two monitors connected, as of now both are connected via DVI

The first one wakes itself but it can't display and image. The other one simply doesn't do anything.
