Displayport not working on Asus pg279q

I just got an Asus pg279q and I'm trying to hook it up with display port. I have an MSI gtx 1080 gaming x. I have plugged it in, and it says "DisplayPort NO SIGNAL" . when I put an HDMI cable in, it works, but the DP doesn't. I have turned off the optimized power whatever in nvidia control panel. And turnt my desktop and monitor both of and on. Nothing is working. Please help

Unplug both the video and power cable from the monitor for a few seconds. Connect power to monitor first, then plug DisplayPort into the computer.

Maybe the displayport cable is somehow broken? Try the cable with different monitor or tv to see if it's working. If it works, then it might be on the monitor's port

No, unplugging the cables and plugging them back in did not work, and I don't have another monitor that uses DP
