Displayport question

I am thinking about buying a SAMSUNG S27A750D Black 27" Full HD 3D LED BackLight LCD Monitor. It uses a Displayport connector to do the 120hz. My Radeon 6970 has mini displayports. Will using a adapter mess up the signal in any way? And is it ok to be connecting it to the mini display ports. Also if it is fine which adapter would work the best the display ports are 1.2. I only see 3 adaptars on newegg. Sorry this is so basic you will laugh but really wanna make sure it works before i spend the cash on a new monitor. Any help is apreciated thank you ahead of time.

Shouldn't be an issue imo.
Bought a DP monitor back in 2009 and a 5850 with full size DP port.
Bought a cable and has worked fine since day 1.
