Question displayport to dual link dvi active adapter 144hz

My screen acer gn246hl does not support 144hz with hdmi, and my rx 6600 only has DP or hdmi. I need an adapter. Do they work well? any lag what so ever?

See section 0 here regarding your monitor. The Author has tried some and seems fine but cost is another thing for a proper adapter that could go towards paying half of a new monitor. Up to you.

Ok, lets say that I will buy a new screen, and use this one as my second on 60hz. is there something you recommend? Should I go 2K 144hz? I've seen some screens with 165hz, worth it?

1440p 144Hz is good, perhaps from LG in your price range. See reviews on Rtings, they do comprehensive reviews.
