Hi,

I just puchased an HDMI to DisplayPort cable.

It won't detect my monitor which is a Dell.

I've installed new drivers and all, but still doesn't work...

What do I do?

Solution
Assuming you're trying to connect the hdmi output of your computer to the display port input on a monitor:

AFAIK, you can't go from hdmi to display port without an active adapter to convert the signal. Display Port can output a HDMI signal natively, but HDMI cannot display a Display Port signal natively. The item Alexoiu linked will not work either. To get a device that does what you need, they'll run around $40 plus, such as this one:

Your other option is to check to see if there's different inputs on the monitor. HDMI to DVI will work with a simple adapter since the signals produced are native to each other...

That one is a simple cable(passive). And yes, based on the above post, and just to be clear, what port on the graphics card are you connecting to what port on the monitor?
