Hello.
I am trying to connect my pc to a monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 940N) which has only 1 vga connection. Bought a displayport to vga cable active type (LogiLink CV0059B).

My computer specs:
OS: Windows 10
Motherboard: Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0
Cpu: Ryzen 3 1200
Graphics: Sapphire RX 570 4gb (has 2 hdmi and 2 dp slots)

Before I plug monitor's vga cable into the adapter, I can see a message "check signal cable" displayed, when I attach cable to the adapter, there's a black screen. Windows does not detect it when I click the Detect button in display settings. The monitor itself works fine with the computer it was previously used on.
I tested a more modern monitor using just displayport connection, no adapters, with my pc and it worked.
I did update my video card drivers, so maybe I bought a bad or incorrect adapter...I really don't know.

Currently I am using a TV as a monitor but it's borrowed and I need to give it back in the coming days. So I need to fix this adapter issue if I want to continue using my computer. I cannot afford to buy a new monitor right now or in next few months.
