DisplayPort to vga problems

Good evening guys, I recently bought an amd rx 580 nitro+ special edition, while having a simple vga monitor, the problem starts here, I bought a display port to VGA adapter and it doesn’t work, my pc screen is black and there is no problem whit my pc because it worked well whit a full hd monitor using an HDMI port.
Should I opt for an active converter? I could go whit a dvi to vga adapter but I don’t know what to buy, could you guys help me out?

Digital = DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort
Analog = VGA
Both = DVI-I

The plain and simple fact is that digital does not easily convert to analog. A simple converter isn't going to work. You will need an active converter (digital to analog) in order to use your VGA only monitor.
