Displays when gtx 680 isnt in?

so my pc displays on the tv when my 680 isnt plugged in, but when it is plugged in it doesnt? whys this?

Err because you have to swap the video cable over from the on board graphics solution of the mother board to the back of the Nvidia 680 graphics card. And you never set the Pci-e graphics card up in the bios to be the primary output display.
