Heyo everybody!
I'm trying to figure out what's been jacking up my audio as of late.

Backstory
The audio on my PC had been working perfectly fine and has been rather reliable for the two years that I've had my system. But dating back a few days from today, December 21, 2017, the audio has been distorted and rather unintelligible. I've encountered the exact same issue before, but that source and solution to the problem has long past my memory. The only things that have changed within the time-frame of the issue becoming prevalent and the audio being completely fine are that I had moved my computer and unplugged all of my peripherals. If that caused this issue then I have no idea how to fix it.

Specs
GPU : MSI GTX 980 TI
CPU : Intel 6600k
Motherboard : MSI Z170A Gaming

Something worth noting is that lowering the balance of either the Right or Left of the realtek audio slightly improves the sound to where I can understand things. But it's not the sound I'm used to.
Along with this, Realtek HD Audio Manager is no where to be found.

Settings.

Right-click the sound icon in the system tray, select playback devices. Make sure your Realtek is actually the sound device of choice. Click on "configure" (on the Realtek device) and make sure everything is as it should be concerning what your hook up consist of.

Unfortunately I've already tried this, everything is as per usual.

Last thing I can think of: Install Winamp. In the settings under output you can choose the output method, such as DirectSound, MS Wave mapper, etc. One of them may be the culprit that you can work on, others may work fine. It's just a way to sectionalize and isolate. DirectSound is usually not as loud as any of the others. Hope this gives a clue.

Thanks for the advice! Winamp didn't seem to do anything either.

Turns out that my motherboard's audio output takes some serious luck to even work.
I had to nudge around the input to the point I thought I would've broken a part of the audio part, but alas I can hear normally now.
