Distorted sound headphone/speakers

Hi all

Recently I've been experiencing a very annoying issue with my sound. I'm just casually playing a game or studying and listening music through my headphones when all of a sudden: BOOM!! The sound becomes distorted and the volume decreases to like 50% of it's original state.

Also the sound then comes both through my headphones and speakers. The sound that comes out of my headphone is very crackling and muffled while I hear very very VERY deep bass sounds through my speakers. Sometimes it just suddenly goes back to normal. Other times it doesn't and it just keeps on going until I shut my PC down and start it up like an hour later

I've already tried to unplug my HD AUDIO front connector from my mobo .

Any help will be highly appreciated

what headphones? corded or bluetooth? my first guess would be the audio cable from your headphones could be going out, I have experienced similar issues and that usually fixes it

Thanks for your reply! I'm using a HyperX cloud headphone, it is a corded one. So you think the cable is broken?
