Question Distro hop or can i install this?

Everything in my about, since i sont really know how to put specs under a post, is this build i finished today, but graphics card ia not inserted due to overwattage or near it. tried to install ubunru 16.04.6 on my custom pc build but after getting it fto find the usb instant error.just text across the screen corner. I had 18/19 in my specs but i didnt know they had gnome desktop which i cannot stand. I came from a celeron with 16.04.6 and ive seen that re de-ing an os makes it slower. Can I inatall 16.04 on this build or is there another 2019 distro with unity 7.x and same look as 16.04?

You don't have to put anything under the post (signature), you can just list it as

• CPU: Celeron v123
• MB: MSI mod. 5678
• RAM: 1024mb
• etc

OTOH - your post is unclear (at least for me) what the exact problem is...

Oh sorry, I'll explain more clear

I have a laptop with a quad core celeron @ 1.1ghz with 4gb ram running ubuntu 16.04.6 which comes with unity de by default. Trying mint de for fun once out of on a earlier 16.04 i learned changing des can make your os slower.

Today, i have completed a custom built desktop with the Following specs
• Mobo: Z390 Taichi Ultimate
• Processor: 8086k @ 4.0 ghz with mugen 5 rev B cooler
• Ram: 2400 speed 2x8gb corsair vengence non rgb
• Storage: 860 evo ssd 1tb

Using the same Usb I installed 16.04.6 on the laptop with, i get an instant error when trying to install 16.04.6 on my build. Thinking 16.04.6 is incompatable with my build or i am doing something wrong, I am asking if i can install 16.04.6 on my build, or if there is a diffrent distro like maybe arch or something, with unity de out of the box so i do not sacrafice speed for using unity 7. I do not like the de/gnome 3 which 18.04+ ubuntu come with.

If you need a lighter DE, install XFCE or something on whatever distro you use, or get one that comes with that by default, like Mint XFCE edition or Xubuntu.

I want the unity 7 de. this part of the issue. I dont mind learning a new distro to get this.

Why unity 7 though?

Cause Unity 7 is my preferred De. like full screen dash search customisation, and top corner launcher.
