DIY Acer Aspire?

Long story short- my dog stepped on my laptop in the red area >http://i43.tinypic.com/jr3ecl.png

The lights and CD Rom works but the screen won't turn on. Acer wants to charge a ridiculous amount of money and don't get me started on Geeksquad..

I've got an acer System and Recovery Disks if it helps any.

Does it show anything on the screen at all? Like the Acer logo?

If not, you could try an external screen through VGA or HDMI. If that doesn't work either, your laptop is pretty much finished. You could try swapping ram at that point.

If it at least gives you an Acer logo, chances are your hdd is broken.
