Hi hackers and DIYers
I have a Lenovo Y50-70, and I am really satisfied with it.. except the battery life. The original one has a 54 Wh battery that can get support me for 4 hours... not enough for a days work. So I decided to do some modding. I bought some 18650s 3000mAh each, and want to replace them with the stock 4 cell (2s 2p) LiPo battery. I noticed that there's a BMS (battery management system) with in the stock battery.
****Will it work if I replace the LiPo batteries with 18650s? Will the BMS recognize it, and read its capacity? Will Windows/Mac still be able to display the battery status of the 18650s? If not, is there a way to do this project?***
Thank you very much
