DIY Computer can't play games

I just built a computer and it works fine (I'm writing this thread on it), but games don't launch. War Thunder (which uses a dedicated launcher) opens the launcher, but then says Video mode initialization error. Other games, such as CSS, CSGO and SYABH say preparing to launch when I start them from steam, have the app open for less than half a second and then crash, but the process remains running.

1x FM2 A55-G33 MOBO
1x 400W PSU
1x Acer 21.5 inch LCD monitor
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

I am wondering if your PSU is enough... I would go for at least 550W... but not sure if that's what is causing games to close, maybe an error when the card tries to pull the power it needs...

Is the onboard graphics adapter disabled in the bios? That might help.

Did you go to AMD's website and install the graphics drivers for your GPU? The basic driver that Windows installs does not offer 3D rendering support and you will get error messages and crashes if you try to run games just using the basic Windows Display Driver.
