DIY Gaming PC

My son wants to build a gaming PC. I know nothing about modern PCs (I built one decades ago and have just been using MACs every since). Anyway, does anyone know of any kits that has everything included or can give me any advice on what components I would need for a good machine. Nothing crazy fancy expensive. He likes fortnight and stuff like that. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Whats your budget?

the website PCpartPicker is a great place to go to look at builds that other people have done at different price ranges, and you can make your own build list on the site as well which checks for compatibility issues.

Honestly, my budget is as little as possible to get a good machine to play things like fortnight for now. We can always upgrade in the future if he gets into other games. My problem is I honestly don't know what parts I need (do they even have audio cards anymore?) and what would be too little and what would be too much. That's why I was hoping there was some kit that included it all. I will check out the PCpartPicker site right now. TY
