So when trying to use an xbox one controller for one hand and a mouse for the other I find that as all my digits are occupied as I have bumpers from modding it I can't really lift the right side of the mouse where I'm not holding it. This ends up being really uncomfortable.
Solution:
The playstation move navigation controller.
Problem:
I want to make buttons or bumpers on the back like the many xbox controllers that are out there so that I can have my left thumb on the joystick at all times. So That I will comfortably and FINALLY have the PC master race approved ultimate solution to have five functions on my left hand + ultimate omnidirectional, granular movement!
Solution:
Wire the traces of the buttons I want remapped to custom buttons drilled into the back of the controller where my free fingers will rest.
Problem:
I don't know what traces on the PCB are assigned to what buttons?!?
Does anyone know how I could discover such a thing?

Google "joystick schematic diagram".

Many links to be found.

Example:

https://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_wiring.html

PCB diagrams just past halfway down.

You will need some expendable controllers and joysticks for testing and experimenting.

Visit a few Goodwill stores or other similar "second hand" shops. Check yard sales. Ask friends and family for old controllers and joysticks. Even broken ones are likely to be helpful.

It seems there is no move controller pcb diagrams although that seems like a very useful site, thank you.
Do you know of any others which may include xbox one and more recent controllers such as the move nagigation controller?

Nothing direct.

Try some additional googling to see what websites turn up. Vary the search criteria as necessary if some particular words/phrases appear to lead to the desired information.

For example: Search robotic/robot controllers. Perhaps someone has modified an old joystick or game controller for a robot project. Electronic hobbyists do all sorts of things.

May simply narrow down to obtaining a few retired (or even new) controllers, getting a multimeter, a soldering iron, a breadboard, etc. and delve into the electronics.

Have fun.
