Hi - I have a Dlink DCS 2100+ webcam. In order to view the camera
video an activex plugin must be installed. I have two PCs both
running Windows 2000 Pro. On one computer, when I accessed the
camera it prompted and installed the plugin and the video is
viewable. On the other computer, no prompt and no video.

Can anyone tell me how to verify which plugin is installed and
how to go about forcing the install of the correct plugin. Of
course the support staff at Dlink has been hopeless - they seem
incapable of even understanding the situation.

Thank you,

-N-

Look in C:windows/downloaded program files/ ...for vapgctrl.
But...and a big but...depending on whether you have some of the latest
IE fixes this damn thing doesn't work anymore. IE will get as far as
the camera webpage and then as soon as it starts to display the image,
IE will dump itself.

Works OK with earlier IE6.

Is there a fix for this problem on the way? I've got a Vivotek IP
camera that uses the same ActiveX plugin and it does exactly what
rsiden describe. Is the problem with the plugin or with IE? I can't
seem to find any fixes or workarounds.
