Dlink DNS 321

Ok so for some reason unknown to me Whenever i go to play media off my DNS 321 through the network from my blue ray player or my phone only like 5 or 6 of the movies i actually have on the Nas box show up but when i check the files with my computer it shows them all there safe and sound i was wondering how i can get it to pick them all back up and it was working lil over a week ago before i rebuilt my computer. In a couple of days im gonna try moving all the files that are currently on the system to another folder on the system see if it picks them up then but till then.

The DNS321 is a pretty old NAS (2008 vintage). The firmware was last updated in 2013. If you have a lot of media you may just be overwhelming the UpnP media server. I think you should start saving your pennies for a replacement. You will be AMAZED how much better a new NAS is compared to that old thing.

so what if its old i had a newer one and the transfer speeds where exact same so i went back to this one it works for what i use it for aka streaming stuff to my tv in my room and i figured out how to get it to grab the info off the disk in its entirety. all i had to do was refressh the media server list in the config to get it to make a new data file on the contents shure it took almost hour to get it to compile the list from the nearly 2t of data i have on it but w/e

If a new unit had the same performance, then it might be your network infrastructure. I had a DNS323 and could barely get 20MB/s. I have a DS215+ and get 100MB/s. I don't have enough time to do backups at 20MB/s ...
