DLink router claiming: mismatched password

Hi folks: I just moved into a place and need help setting up a problematic WiFi connection.

The wifi works on the router end considering that my phone is connected no problem but my desktop seems "non-responsive" when I input the same password.

Can anyone shed some light on the possible problem? Help me troubleshoot this.

Not sure what info to provide but here's what I got: D-Link router, WEP type security

Check if the MAC filter is on. If yes, add the desktop MAC for allowing connection.

Change it to something better than WEP like WPA2. Then put the password in the router. Then when you want to connect to it type in the same password

Dont use WEP or MAC theyre easy to crack

I'm unfamiliar with the MAC filter. Can someone show me how to navigate to it?
