Dlink usb modem - error 692

I have a dlink dwm 156 usb modem and i'm trying to use it in a desktop with windows 7.
The device is detected...sim card is recognized...but when i click on connect...it says "error 692-hardware failure(modem or other connecting device)"
Pls help!!

Not all cell data models will work with all SIM cards, what troubleshooting did you do already? First thing would be to check for latest drivers for the device for Windows as well as a firmware update for the modem itself.
