I just found out that my onboard LAN doesn't work with Linux, so I'll have to buy a pci card. Any recommendations for for a cheap NIC card with Linux support?

just looked it up on newegg, and it looks like that is a router. Is was more looking for a pci card with a ethernet port (I already have a router).

NIC cards are such a commodity today as long as the mfg says they support Linux then it will be fine. I like to stick to well known brands - Intel, SMC, DLink, Linksys, Netgear, etc., but I've had oddball brands and they've worked fine too.

Good ol' 3Com Ethernet 3C905C-TX or TXM cards.

They're good, cheap and reliable. They work right out of the box usually with no driver installations needed.

I've used Realtec, 3com, and Intel with no problems. You can pick them up under $10
