I cannot get my computer to recognize my TV. I have a DY-WL10 Wireless LAN adapter for the TV and a TP-Link WDR3500 dual router which is wired to my computer. I want to install a Freetalk 7181 Skype camera to the TV. When I go to DLNA on the TV I find the router shown as "TP-Link_85FD3A:1" and when I click on it I get "MediaServerRoot" and then nothing. I have followed all the advice I can find on setting up the computer for locating the TV without luck. I don't know enough about routers to try playing with mine although I have tried and simply lost the Internet on my computer which I've then battled to get back.
I currently run an HDMI cable from the computer to the TV to stream movies etc and I have a Samsung BDE-5300/ZC wired (doesn't take wireless) in to access the internet for YouTube, Netflix etc., so I only want to access Skype on the computer for the camera.
Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks ... James

I know nothing on this router so I'm just guessing. First, is the "MediaServerRoot" coming from your router or your PC? Possibly your router has a media server and you are confusing this as coming from the PC and you aren't seeing anything from your PC.

Try installing another media server. I use PS3Media server for my two Samsung TVs. No installation issues unless you have multiple NICs or are running a virtual machine with a virtual network but that only required defining a default IP address for the server on the screen.

See if you get anything from that server.

Do you have Windows Media Server running? (Windows 7?) If so you should be seeing this on your TV and other computers on your local network.

I don't think that the problem is the router. Good luck
