DMA enabled or disabled?

Is it a good idea to have DMA enabled on your cd rom and cd burner drives? What are the pros and cons? Thanks

I don't know about cons -- except things don't seem to work right. I always have DMA on for my DVD dirve.

I heard some of cdrw does not work correctly if you enable DMA. Usually I disable DMA on my cdrw.

If you enable it, you will use less processor time when copying data. In some cases it is supposed to cause troubles.

I suggest you to enable it, I've had no problems enabling it in many computers.

If you don't experience any problems with it enabled, I'd suggest you enable it. It'll make the drive itself take some more "load."
