When I try to burn a DVD using my DVD Recorder it tells me that "DMA" is
turned off and that I need to turn it on. It suggests using Windows Help to
do so, but that gets me nowhere. How do I turn it on?

I checked that page out - Once I clicked the "System" icon in Control Panel
none of the things it told me were located on the menu - no "Settings" tab
and no "DMA" check box. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it is a
laptop I am trying to do it on.

Hi Chi,
Right click on My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, double click
on IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, double click on Primary IDE Channel, click on
the Advanced Settings tab, under Transfer Mode chose DMA if available. Do
the same with Secondary IDE Channel.
