I have the following situation, I have a problem with NAT Type in multiplayer games. Regardless of what I do, its always "Moderate", its never "OPEN". I tried putting a static IP address for my PC, I have forwarded all the ports for my games and enabled uPnP.

Today I figured that I can get NAT Type : Open if I put my static IP address into DMZ. I know that is not very safe.

Is it a good idea to put my IP address into DMZ while playing games, and always remove it from DMZ when I`m done with playing ? Is that risky ?

Solution

It minimizes your risk while not playing, but not during play. Usually it's not much of a risk if you take standard precautions (like a firewall and proper AV )

What about always removing my IP address from DMZ when I`m done with multiplayer ?

Ok, you gave the solution. Some other opinions on this matter maybe ?

Can enabled DMZ <mod edit> your Windows 10 seriously or ?
I use Windows Defender and Windows Firewall, but I`m not sure if the default settings in windows firewall are good enough...

DMZ by itself CANNOT cause problems. It's external hacking hat is the issue, and while very rare it can happen. The best thing it do is properly open necessary ports for each game, though some games don't actually tell you what ports need opening.
