Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere -- searching hasn't yet solved my problem... Also sorry if this is in the wrong section.

My problem:

I'm using a laptop computer on a home wireless network and for quite some time now a number of websites don't load. Firefox displays an "Unable to Connect" page saying that "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ____"

Internet Explorer says "Oops! This link appears broken. DNS error occurred. Server cannot be found."

This has been getting somewhat problematic.

The pieces of the puzzle that I know:

■A desktop connected with a wired connection through the same router can access the same site with no problems.
■Likewise, an iPhone connected to the same wireless connection has no problems at all.
■The hosts file on the problem computer is clean.
■Flushing the DNS doesn't fix the problem.
■Reducing the MTU doesn't fix the problem.
■Resetting the router, modem, and computer don't fix the problem.

I would greatly appreciate any help you might be able to offer!

Thanks much --

Thank you for the suggestion!

Firefox was set to "use system settings." I changed it to "No Proxy." This didn't seem to fix the problem.

Some more information:

For a common example: I type in usaa.com and get the aforementioned error. If I go to google and type in usaa.com, then click the link to usaa.com, I can get to the website with no problem.
