Hi,

I am having a problem with my computer. When i connect it directly to the ethernet cable it says "DNS server is not responding to Windows" so i went on to properties and made sure it selects the category 4 on its own ( i also already tried the 8888 8844 configuration as well as the other configuration that starts with 26... something).SO then i went in and did this in the command prompt ipcnfig:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

SO when i connect it to a D-link ethernet router - which is basically so that two people can use cables from the ethernet cable instead of only one person...it DOES connect to the internet. BUT because it goes through the router it is not so strong, so i cannot conduct skype calls for example..but when i have it JUST connected directly to the ethernet cable i CAN conduct skype calls. What a mess! Anyway, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated! :)

According to the ipconfig your wireless is not connected and your ethernet connection is not connected either with ipv4. Did you disable ipv4 for some reason? Make sure your wireless is connected to the router if that is what you are using, if it shows connecting, delete that connection and re-connect it again.

The router should not have any effect on speed (which I am guessing you are calling "not so strong"). If you hav issues with the router through ethernet, check for updated firmware for it in it's config page and/or reboot it.
