I have 2 win 2000 servers connected through a vpn
connection, my problem is that i can ping both servers by
ip address but not by name.

Also when I view the domain both server do not appear
together?

Normally this is a DNS issue.

Are you the admin of the domain?

What DNS server(s) do you have INTERNALLY?

What settings do you have on your CLIENT NIC interfaces for
both ordinary client machines and the servers themselves?

Did you make the INTERNAL DNS server "dynamic"?

What specifically do you mean by "view" and "appear"?
Which tool are you using?

Normally, browsing is a NETBIOS function and if you have
more than one subnet or domain it requires WINS server(s)
to function correctly.
