Hey, so i have an hp motherboard that does not support overclocking, i upgraded my ram to 2x8gb 3200mhz but it runs at 2133mhz, i can't change the speeds at bios.
So the question is, does JEDEC ram run at max speed by default or would i have to configure in bios for it to run at 3200mhz?

Solution
If CPU supports DDR4-3200 natively, you need DDR4-3200 CL22 1.20V for the system to recognize DDR4-3200 correctly. Otherwise, if you have a memory kit that requires XMP (CL22 and lower), then the system will likely run them at standard DDR4-2133 CL15 1.20V.

Check what SPD you have from CPUz and write down your Timings and voltage. You may have or maybe not have an extended memory profile for easy Overclocking.
Go into Bios and try entering the SPD details manually.
