[SOLVED] Do all dual link dvi d cables support 144hz?

I just purchased a hkc-m24g3f since it has a dvi d which is good for my dvi d only rx580(powercolor) also bought a dual link dvi d cable and it does show 120hz and 144hz however when I try to click them the screen only turns to black and reverts to 60hz, is it a cable problem or my monitors? And does anyone know which brand I should buy from.

Most likely cable at this point, it's the only thing you can try besides returning monitor or have it tested elsewhere.

Are you sure you don't have Displayport on your card? Models below all appear to have DP which would be good if it did because monitor supports DP also. What cables come with monitor?

Its like the mining edition with only dvi d and I didnt care last year about display outputs since my previous monitor had dvi d but now I do and only realized the dvi d only port, the monitor did come with display port

DVI-D (Dual Link) is the only DVI that supports 144 Hz. Note that DVI-D (Single Link) does not support 144 Hz.
Most probably its a faulty cable.
