I bought a dongle a while ago, a CSR Harmony dongle, and it uses its own damn program instead of windows just recognizing me as having bluetooth. Now normally id be fine with it, but custom programs dont allow connection without a PIN for some devices, like a wiimote. So this <Mod Edit> useless.

Is there any dongle that actually integrates as if i had a laptop and could just go to WINDOW'S settings and not this bootleg <Mod Edit>. Thanks

Try uninstalling all their software. Then install just the driver through Device Manager.

Use a program like 7-zip to unpack the installer. Usually you just install 7-zip. Right click the installer > 7-Zip > Extract to "Wireless driver\"

Then have Windows install the driver manually from Device Manager. That's how I install any network type driver. From the old days when every WiFi adapter installed a garbage utility rather than using Windows XP's wireless manager.

If that doesn't work. I use the Sabrent BT-UB40. It just uses Windows' built in bluetooth utility. I'm pretty sure it just installed automatically without having to download drivers.

Mine does show up as a windows device but still will randomly ask for a PIN to connect things that don't have a keyboard.
Looking it up on google will give you alternative ways of connecting devices that might help.

Worked perfectly, had to install "Generic bluetooth radio" and it took care of itself. Thanks!
