Do any P965 boards support x8/x8 Crossfire (not x16/x4)?

How about 16x16?
The Gigabyte DQ6 does, and ASUS P5B Deluxe.
No motherboard in the world does x16/x16 Crossfire. Plenty of boards have two physical x16 PCIe connectors, but the actual number of PCIe lanes that carry data to and from the slots when in use are much more limited. 975X normally allows you to choose between x16 and x8/x8. P965 sometimes offers a weird x16/x4 combination, I believe. (Nvidia 680i boards are genuinely x16/x16, but they support SLI rather than Crossfire). But I wondered if someone might have figured out a clever way of doing x8/x8 on P965.

Yep there are plenty of 965 boards that offer 8x8, it's called stump up the extra $20 and get a 975x board.
But then I wouldn't be getting the P965's overclocking ability, or the more advanced south bridge chip, or any of P965's other advantages.

boards like the AW9D-Max can match the 965 for raw MHz on the FSB when overclocking, and as to the more advanced southbridge, you really have 6 HDD's?

What the hell? Every design spec that I saw of the 965 chipset had it specifically noted that it was for SLI. I've always been told that the 975 chipset was the one that could support Crossfire.

P965 definitely does not support SLI. No Intel chipset does. Only Nvidia chipsets support SLI.

Are you thinking of 650i?

Officially
You can run SLI on 975 & 965 using hacked drivers (no hacked drivers for 8800 series though).

Geezzz, Settle down.
P965 boards are 16x4 whether they support Crossfire or not. This IS A KLUDGE. DON'T DO IT!
If you want Crossfire, use a P975 or an ATI chipset motherboard.
If you want SLI, use an NVidia chipset.
P965 boards are for people with more brains than money...
Choose wisely.
