As higher bitrate video sources become a norm, I wonder whether there is a bitrate limit for digital TVs and computer monitors? if yes, what is the best way to access this information?
The data sent to displays is normally completely uncompressed. Which means it's in the range of 3Gb/s for 1080p60, no matter the content.
Multiply width by height by frame rate by number of bits per pixel.
Assuming that the higher end Bluerays tend to be around 40Mbps, I think it would be safe to presume that no modern monitor will be outrun in the bitrate race by any video source we throw at it, right?
