[SOLVED] Do dual channel memory always double the performance

Hello, I just wanted to ask. Do dual channel memory double the performance?
From what i know, dual channel memory use 2 memory stick.
Do using 2 of them will double the performance compared to the single channel?

It improves but does not double. The other channel can be used for IO while the first one is busy with previous operation. Sort of RAID 0 applied to RAM.

Not even close to double. And in overall system performance usually <5% difference.

You can, but if you're running multiple modules it makes sense to run double.

There are certain memory intensive applications that see significant performance improvements thanks to the extra memory bandwidth and reduced latency that multiple-channel memory configurations enable. A few examples that come to mind are compression, rendering, and video encoding/decoding.

In most cases, performance gains will be fairly marginal. However, if a number of applications are running at once, performance gains will be more visible.
