Do dual gfx cards have to be xfired to duplicate screen

Hello,

I have a PC with two nVidia GT620 gfx cards, each of the 2 screens are connected via HDMI to a media converter, then from the media converter via Cat 6 to a patch panel, finally from the patch panel to another media converter and HDMI into the gfx card.

The reason this is set up like this is becasue the screen are used ina customer service centre and the computer controlling these screens in loced away in a comms room.

my question is, I can't duplicate the screens, would i have to sli them?

There is no reason you cannot mirror the screens as it is. But why do you have two cards to power just two monitors?
