I was playing video games for about 3 hours yesterday when out of no where my monitor screen goes black. I did a hard reset (held down the power button) to try to restart my computer when nothing happened, no lights, no fans spinning, nothing. Luckily I still had my old gaming desktop to swap/test parts and came to the conclusion that my problem is with my graphics card (GTX 1080ti). I did throw the card into my old system and experienced the same problem where the system doesn't turn on.
I was under the impression that a dying GPU will give signs like artifacting or generally being unstable. which I experienced none of. Did my card just randomly die or is there something else I can try that I'm not thinking of?
