Question Do hard drives make a lot of heat?

I'm building a PC, and the case is designed so that 3.5 inch drives can go on the panel opposite the motherboard on the right side of the case, if looking at the front. Case is called Couger Panzer Max. If I put one hard drive there, is that going to give off heat to the back of the board? Is it sumptheeng I should be worried about?

Not really. I have my hdd wd blue 1tb running at 33-37 all year long.

If you're running 10K RPM drives, it's something you need to account for and address.

If you're running ≤ 7200 RPM drives, you won't have to do anything that amounts to "heroics" in terms of cooling.

Ok, but would a 7200RPM hard drive that is constantly spinning create much heat? And could it affect the board given the position its in in that case???

Mine only run about 5-10 degrees over room temp.

My Qnap NAS box has 4x 4TB HDD's in close proximity. No more than 0.5" between them.
In a very small case.
Inside a small closed cabinet under the TV.
Running 24/7.
Current ambient temp of 23C.
