The plans for my build are coming to a close I feel, after spending hours and hours on these forums and researching what parts I want for my build. I'm feeling excited but I don't want to jump the boat.

I will also add that I'm getting a new apartment within a couple weeks to a month so I just shit off my Internet service to prepare for the move. I was planning on waiting till I moved in to buy the parts and put together the PC but there is a few parts that were out of stock for awhile that have just now been stocked back in and there is limited Amounts.

Tell me what you guys think. Should I buy all of my parts now? Do you think better components will be out within that time so should I wait? And when I buy the parts should I just buy them all at once in one big package from like newegg for example?

Please help im abit lost at what to do

I recently built my first computer over the summer and I feel that you want to buy them all at once and it is important to have an internet connection I think, when first building so you can update your PC to the latest version of Windows and all your games software etc. You don't have to buy them all from Newegg unless they have all the cheapest prices I would do some research in between now and and when you move into your new apartment and see what websites have the best deals. Also, gather a list of what you need to make sure you don't miss anything such as an aftermarket heat sink if you are going to be OC'ing it, or a CD drive so you can install your various software unless you plan on installing everything via USB drives but since you are rather new to this (I am assuming) I would stick with a CD-Drive. Well now I am rambling so yeah just make sure you have everything necessary for your build and Good Luck! Remember never put the side panel on before your first boot-up its bad luck ;P your computer will never turn on! (A piece of computer builder superstition haha)

I'd say wait for the Thanksgiving sales, it you can. Also use PCpartpicker.com to find all your components. They will list the cheapest stores to buy from, discounts/rebates/tax/shipping included. Don't buy in one big package, you can usually get them from separate places for cheaper.

Well the sales don't much matter to me because price isn't an issue really, I just want to get some of these parts ordered before they go out of stock again. And are all of the sites that pcpartpicker suggest legit sites to buy from?

I've pretty much prepped for every part, I just gotta make sure they are compatible. I figured if I buy the parts without Internet now, I could bench the parts and make sure I don't have to RMA anything that way the build will be ready for my new apartment and I can do updates then

That is usually a personal preferance, but if Money isn't and issue, then by all means get your parts. You can at least get it built and tested, Once you have reestablished you internet then you can get all the updates and activate the OS.

So should I even install my OS when I get the PC ? Or wait and just test parts . I was thinking I could use a friends Internet to do updates and maybe install some benchmarking software

You want to test things any way. I will usually install the processor and cooler on the Motherboard and on stick of memory. Depending on the processor, you can use the integrtaed graphics or just install the Graphics card. I set it on the box it came in and hook up the power & monitor and turn it on. I am checking to make sure all is good and it POSTs. If that goes well, then I put everything in the case. If you have access to the internet tan fine, but keep in mind those updates can take a while.

If I have you a list of my parts could you tell me if it will all come together?

It would be helpful and I started to ask about it.

I7 4770K

Asus Maximus VI Hero Motherboard
G. Skill Trident 16GB (2x) 8gb ~ 2400Mhz/10cL
Corsair 900D Case

Mm no the graphics card was the second part listed. And as for psu I don't know what wattage I need since I plan on having a water cooling loop. Optical drive and storage ill worry about later

The one I linked to wil drive sli / Xfire, so I think it will be enough, with some headroom. :)
