Do I Have 8GB Version of RX 470?

Hello there. Finally I have got my hands on this cool graphics card and started to play with some tools provided by MSI. In MSI Gaming App, there is a tool that let's you change the color of the top led and led animations. Strangely, it detects my GPU as RX 470 Gaming X 8G, but this card is 4G version. If there is such thing, does that mean I can have 8GB out of this little dragon? Here is the picture showing my current discoverings.

it says memory - 4gb, system memory 8gb. The 8 GB is what you have in your computer, not on the card.

But MSI Gaming App doesn't consider system memory, and it reads my GPU as RX 470 Gaming X 8G. Shouldn't this be 4G instead?

what version of the card did you buy? The 8G model has 8GB but the 4G model has 4GB. It's possible the app can't tell the difference between the two and is just calling both version the 8G.

They probably have all their 470 cards under that name for settings availability. If you really want to be sure, check the product model number on the back of your card online for the exact version you have.

Probably just an error on their part, no reason to use a different interface between the models of cards. They'll probably have a software update take care of that. Report the problem to MSI.

It does say Gaming X 4G there. I think as other people mentioned this is a software bug (feature™). I'll report this problem to MSI, thanks for answers y'all.
