Do i have a bad router

Only thing that would make sense other than us being throttled i did a test the other day pluged my pc up 2 the ethernet cable and got the dl speeds we are paying for i thrn continued to get an ethernet cable and plug it up to the router while the one connected to the modem was in the router i got the dl speed that we have now so thst leads me to beleive we have a bad router and we cant be being throttled otherwise our wired connection would be the same s our wireless right?

Most router failures the router does not respond at all or maybe one or more of the wireless radios is not working.

It would not be common for it to just run slower. I would first factory reset the device and check to see if there is newer firmware.

If you have a very fast internet connection...ie over 250bps some router need a hardware assist feature turned on. It has different names on different brands of routers.

I have unplugged it many times before posting this and replugged it up i just pushed the reset button and thr router turned off

It depends on the router how exactly you reset it but the process that works on most is called 30-30-30 even though most router can be reset more simply.

What you do is hold the reset for 30 seconds, unplug the router, hold the reset for 30 second, while still holding the reset plug the router in and hold for 30 seconds.

You have to completely reconfigure the router after it is reset.

It is mostly you don't want to spend the money on a new router if it is something simple but at some point you just give up and spend the money unfortunately.
