I have a year old LG 27UP600-W.AUM monitor that is connected to my desktop via DP that falls asleep and sometimes will not awaken unless I restart the pc or unplug the dp cable from my desktop and plug it back in. My desktop has a hdmi and dp from my msi motherboard, I use the hdmi for my tv. I recently purchased a new 8k dp cable to see if that was the issue but it is still doing this. So my question is it my monitor, motherboard or something else causing the issue. I have my power setting to make my screen go to sleep after 5 minutes and while the tv always wakes up the monitor only does sometimes.

As a suggestion, instead of powering off your pc when you are done, use sleep to ram(no hibernate) instead.
That puts the pc and monitor into a very low power state essentially like full power off.
Sleep/wake becomes only a handful of seconds.
Well, after sleeping for a few weeks upon awakening the pc it did the same thing. The pc monitor showed no signal and everything displayed on my tv. After unplugging and plugging the dp cable from my desktop m y monitor came back on.
