Do I have enough power to SLI?

Hi,

I built a system with the following specs, and was wondering if you guys think my PSU is enough to add another of the same video card (Twin Frozr II 560ti OC). I appreciate any help.


PSU: Antec High Current Gamer Series 750W (SLI ready)

CPU: Intel Core i7-960 (stock clock speed)

Video Card: MSI Twin Frozr II GTX560ti OC

Motherboard: MSI X58A-GD45

Memory: 2x4GB G.SKILL Sniper Series 1600MHz

Primary Boot Drive: OCZ Vertex 3 120GB 2.5"

Secondary Drive: 1 TB (Hitachi???)

Yes 750w should be enough for SLI 560Ti's and overclocking.

You've got yourself a decent PSU aswell which helps

Thanks. I tried using Corsair's power supply calculator, and it seemed like it was on the borderline between recommending 750W and 1000W. It depended on whether I called my video cards overclocked or not (I only plan on using the stock OC), whether I included my SSD (only possible as a HDD), etc.

I appreciate hearing a real, human, person's opinion.

Sorry to say but Corsairs PSU calc is terrible. It tried to tell me i needed 1000w with a single 560Ti!!

The 560 ti in SLI draws about 298W or ~25 amps. on the 12v rail. The Antec PSU that you lists state it has 40 amps. per 12v rail so you should be fine, but I'd recommend splitting the Vid cards onto different 12v rails to load balance.

Don't really have any other option with that psu, it uses those damn pigtailed pcie connectors, not a good idea on a 750 watt psu IMO.
