At present I am running a 250W athlon approved power supply - enlight case. However, I have had some instability problems and I achieve a dreadful 3dmark score (1500) with my Gforce2MX. Is it possible that I am running our of power. I have 4 40gig maxtors Athlon 1GHz 512Mg creative sound and a network card in my machine. what else may be the problem?

If it was the power supply, your system either would not run or shut down. Update your BIOS and drivers. More info on your system would be helpful. What motherboard and drivers?

Yeah, you need at least a 300watt PSU maybe more with all those hard drives. AMD suggests a 300watt PSU to start with and then you go on up from there. If driver and Bios updates don't help then try shelling out a little cash for a new PSU.

You're draining your system of power with all those devices. :) Upgrade to at least 300w.

Hey, I had the very same problem with my first athlon slot and a GeForce256 - Both very high power consumers. My 3d benchies SUCKED! It was worse than the video card i had just removed.

actually the utilities told me voltage on the GPU was only
3.10v (not enough to operate properly)

So i went ang got a better power supply

Then the GeFGorce rocked!

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
