I need high speed usb ports I'm sure I have at least one I think on this dell dimension 3000 according to this pic but I have plugged things into these usb ports on the front before and a pop up came up and it said something like "plug into a high speed usb port" so I'm guessing they are not high speed on the front?

It says whats shown in bold are the available high speed ports but whats shown in bold says 8 ports.. so what is it.. I don't even have 8 ports only 5 so i should uninstall then restart?

"So open the Computer Management console (My Computer - right click - Manage), select the device manager and start uninstalling all USB host controllers. Pretty simple - they're gone in a few minutes. Restart and Windows XP Pro detects the USB hardware right away."

That would be the 4 you linked in the first pic.

I uninstalled them then restarted and thre were alot of pop ups in the lower right corner saying found new hardware etc and root hub pop ups and stuff like that went back to device manager and it looks the exact same at least.

I went to that link clicked on dell dimension 3000 and put in my service tag and clicked on chipset as a category and there were no updates like the one on that page can I just buy a PCI USB high speed card and would that work if nothing else?

Thats everything to download when I put in my service tag. I do have an old version of BIOS I'm still afraid to download that lol but I don't think I need it I was going to do that before I got a new graphics card but didn't. Is it possible to just buy this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JE2U82/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1ENECL4QMH21H&coliid=I24KMMRLR086O and then be able to get high speed 2.0?
